Rythms on the River finals last night!

Awesome Rythms on the River finals last night! Guest judge, Darla Givens from Channel 10 along with judge-regulars, Julie and Mitch, asked for 6 of the performers to sing a second song to help them make a final selection. The top 4 singers were; Arianna Roberts, Sara St. Pierre, Jaime Kirk and Lindsey Cook. Lindsey Cook was selected as the winner of the 2010 Rythms competition as well as the Gigatone recording contract and an invitation to perform at Sacramento Magazine's 'Best Of' event in December. The Rythms on the River competition was designed to showcase the talent we have in the Sacramento area and the 2010 auditions proved that our talent is second to none. (Hear that LA?) Look for this event to return in April 2011!

July 21

Last night's Week 7 of the Rythms on the River was a great ending to the 'raw' auditions for the 2010 contest.
Rythm's MC, Stephen Darmstadler, did a great job of fitting in all the audition performances. We had
a record number of registered Rythms participants, (14).

Here is video clip of last night's winner, Sara St. Pierre. The runner up, Marissa Nicole Tingus sang Broken
Wing, by Martina McBride featuring a killer last note. 3rd place was a tie; Torey Crable, singing Brooks and Dunn,
and Danielle Rose, who sang a really good original composition.

After taking a break next Wednesday, every Wednesday in August will be part of the Rythms's August Finals month.

Y'all need to see the great talent we have, right here in Sacramento!

Micky Dolenz, yes the Monkees drummer, will be part of our Monday, August 2nd
'Patio Jam' - Wine, Food and music event. This will be a 'once in a lifetime' chance
to mix with Micky in an intimate, evening that will include Micky 'jamming' with
the Track Shack studios musicians and rumors that at least one other music legend
will drop by. Phone is off the hook with people asking about the wineries that
will be participating and the food that will be presented.

The wineries include;

Michael David
Frank Family
Pacific Wine and Spirits
Henry Wine Group w/Renwood

The passed appetizers will be served throughout the event...
It’s going to be a blast.

The Rythms on the River week 6 winner, Lucas Lee, performed
a Don Henley classic, 'Heart of the Matter'. In contrast, runner-up
Tia Ferrera performed Rhianna's 'Umbrella'. Helen Austin, a Gigatone
Artist from Vancouver, Canada was recording at the Track Shack
and was kind enough to perform a few of her songs as well.

Much thanks to guest judges; Bethany Crouch from Channel 40
and Jackie Tranchida from Channel 31's weekend show for helping
us choose the Week 6 finalists.

Week 7 is shaping up to be our biggest week yet with a wide-range
of auditioners and performances from 2 past week winners. See you then!

The food surprise for tomorrow's, Thursday Chef's Night at the Pearl, is this delicious

Other new menu items are the; Dinner menu - with a T-Bone steak finished with a grilled nectarine chutney that complements the taste of the steak. Alnog Root beer float and creme brulee desserts -- enjoy!!

Finally, a male winner!

Dane Drewis's strong voice and comfortable performance style won the judge's
over performing the song, Truth. Kristen Gill was the runner up after taking a
long bus ride from Redding in order to compete in the Rythms on the River
competition.

Past Rythms 'finalists', Jaime and William performed along with Gigatone
recording artist, Amy Beth.

The semi-finals are shaping up to be a great competition.

The first Wednesday of August (8/4) will be the 'March of Dimes night' with

Week 4, Rythms on the River:

Tonight's 'Rythms' competition was another entertaining night.

The week 4 winner was Lindsey Cook! Great performance! The judges Jeff Tamilier, Julie Lautsch, and Mitch Koulouris keep talking about our Sacramento talent as some of the best out there. Lindsey just simply showed us that this is true. Congratulations Lindsey we will be seeing you in the finals!!

Week 3, Rythms on the River:

Tonight's 'Rythms' competition was another entertaining night.

The week 3 winner was Gold River's Lauren Sater, who sang 'Inside Outside' by Storm Large.
For her 'encore' song, she sang a moving rendition of 'Falling Slowly'.

Carmichael's Amy Rolf just edged out Mariah Muehler from Cameron Park in a very
closely contended battle for second place.

I am in awe of the Sacramento area singing talent.

Tonight's judging panel brought back producer Jo Haskin from week 2 who joined
Track Shack's Jeff Tamilier, rock promoter Scott Brill Lehn, and the associate
director of the March of Dimes, Ashley Fehrmann. Rythms on the River's first
round of the August Finals will be a March of Dimes benefit at the Pearl.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a memorable night.

Last night's Rythms on the River singing competition was awesome!
Sacramento's singing talent easily matches the American Idol talent.

The judges included Ken Gross, from 100.5 The Zone, and Emmy nominated
director/producers Ryan Todd and Jo Harkin joining Gigatone's Mitch Koulouris.

Week two's winner was Arianna Roberts, a self-described Acoustic Alternative
artist. WilliamTanimoto was a close second.

I declare the first 2 weeks of the Rythms on the River Wednesday events
to be a total success!

The Rythms on the River, American Idol-style singing contest got off to a great start last Wednesday. Judge Jeff Tamilier, former guitarist for Tower of Power, Jefferson Starship and Eddie Money was surprised at the high quality of the Sacramento area opening night auditioners.

The winner of week one was Jaime McCrary, who sang Bonnie Raitt's 'Make me an Angel'. One of the judges said she reminded them of the American Idol runner-up, Krystal Bowersox.

The photo shows Jaime with Jeff Tamilier and Mitch Koulouris, Grammy board member and president of Gigatone Entertainment.
